ON THE WHEEL

The following designs are a sample of yarns currently in the studio and being spun on the wheel. (To see them all, come visit the Riverdale or Bronxville Farmers' Market.)

Single Fleece: "Magnolia" Washed but uncombed locks from the initial shearing of a little lamb named Magnolia. All those lovely colors are natural to the lamb and undyed. Loosely spun single ply.

Baby Camel for Grown-ups

New Design! Soft, tawny baby camel blended with white bombyx silk and spun in a fine, elegant two- ply yarn. A few dashes of textured silk in deep green and light chartreuse run throughout the skeins.

Yak on Fire

Extremely popular and as soft as cashmere. Chocolatey yak down mixed with merino/tencel painted in fiery tones.

Merino Spring & Merino Sun

Soft NY State Merino in deep gold with red/violet silk and vibrant spring green with pure white bombyx silk.

Mina's Yarn

Local NY State Cormo wool and mohair blend in crimson wrapped with painted soy silk.

Autumn Oaks

The first lot sold out, and more is on the wheel. Tawny, golden autumn colors in luxurious merino/silk. This two-ply yarn is spun with a "beaded" texture.

Peony Baby

New Design! Creamy white NY State cormo wool and a strand of angora/wool in deep peony.

Purple Haze

Three-ply yarn in two shades of lavender/violet, and that third strand in white, slubby mohair/merino. A soft and wonderful yarn.

Electric Blue

Soft and lustrous blue faced leicester wool in alternate shades of intense ultra marine blue.

Smashed Silk

Pure Bombyx Silk spun against every rule. It's thick, thin, washed and smashed against a wall. The result is a gorgeous lustrous silk yarn with an almost crisp hand.

Chunky Handpaints

Extra bulky, pure wool (most of it from NY State). Painted and spun with gorgeous color variations.

Raspberry Slub

A combination of wool and mohair single ply spun thick and thin. Beautiful berry colorway with a few hints of green.

Meadow Green

A rare breed wool wrapped in honey silk. One skein left.

Aquarelle

2 ply thick and thin yarn in a custom colorway of subtle aquas and blues. BFL wool, one of my favorite breeds. It's soft with a subtle luster.

Shetland Cocoon

NY State Shetland wool in Hemlock green and Oceanic blue. Spun with cocoons of contrasting color: green coils on blue yarn and blue coils on green yarn.

Sapphire Alpaca

One of my most popular designs. NY State alpaca in a natural black highlighted by bamboo in three shades of blue.

Colorwheel Wool

A sportweight single ply NY State wool in custom dyed variegated shades of amber, aqua and violet. Spring green is sold out.
